About the Event
James Gifford is the Head of Impact Investing at UBS Wealth Management, working with ultra-high net worth clients, advisors, and investment product teams to develop and deploy impact investments at scale.
James is the former founding Executive Director of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment, which is the world’s leading proponent of responsible investment that serves as a reporting and engagement platform on integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into investment and ownership decisions.
Being actively involved in research and teaching activities in academia, James is also a former Senior Fellow for the Initiative for Responsible Investment, Harvard Kennedy School, and Senior Fellow at the University of Zurich's Centre for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth. He established an executive education program on impact investing for the next generation of family office investors and still teaches key sessions for the program. James has degrees in Commerce and Law; Master's in Environment Management; and Ph.D., from the University of Sydney on the topic of shareholder engagement.
